CTE AND NLPS, EXPLAINED

Indiana's Entrepreneurship CTE Pathway

Career and Technical Education, or CTE, is the broader system. Next Level Programs of Study, or NLPS, is Indiana's current structure for secondary CTE pathways. Venture Ready turns the state's entrepreneurship competencies into a complete four-course curriculum teachers can use each day.

Four Courses, One Entrepreneurship Pathway

Indiana teachers working with students on entrepreneurship

7154 Principles of Entrepreneurship

Students build an entrepreneurial mindset, identify problems worth solving, study customers, test ideas, and begin developing a venture.

7147 Entrepreneurial Operations

Students learn how an entrepreneurial organization markets, sells, manages money, handles risk, and makes day-to-day operating decisions.

7148 New Venture Development

Students validate an opportunity, refine the business model, build a go-to-market plan, and prepare a new venture for launch.

7201 Small Business Operations Capstone

Students operate or simulate a real venture, analyze performance, solve business problems, and plan for responsible growth.

Why Venture Ready Was Created

Indiana defined the course competencies, but schools still needed the day-to-day curriculum. Venture Ready was built to fill that classroom gap across all four courses.

From Competencies to Classroom

The curriculum adds instruction, activities, pacing, assessment, and teacher support so educators can move from state expectations to daily teaching.

How Schools Move from Pathway to Classroom

A clear sequence helps CTE leaders evaluate fit, prepare the teacher, and make a confident adoption decision.

Funding and State Guidance

Qualifying Indiana CTE enrollments may generate state funding. Funding depends on eligibility, reporting, appropriations, and current rules; it is not a direct reimbursement for Venture Ready materials. Requirements can change. Schools should use official Indiana state sources for the most up-to-date information.
